Vietnamese culture introduced in France

The event themed “Vietnam on the stage” attracted the participation of a number of French citizens, both young and old people who are keen to learn about Vietnamese history and culture.

Opening a series of promotional activities was a symposium that looked at the France – Vietnam relations from the Fontainebleau Conference in 1946 up to the historic visit of French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe to Vietnam in 2018.

Pierre Journoud, PhD researcher and lecturer, highlighted the ups and downs of the history and special milestones which have been achieved in bilateral relations, offering plenty of interesting analysis.

Meanwhile, Amandine Dabat, a researcher in art history and the fifth generation descendant of Emperor Ham Nghi, held a presentation on the Emperor, a little-known painter who was exiled to Algeria. 

Participants had the chance to enjoy a number of ethnic musical instrument performances, in addition to exploring the world of Western classical music in Vietnam through a documentary film “Once upon a bridge in Vietnam”.

Addressing the event, a representative from the Vietnamese Embassy in France expressed great appreciation for the initiative and efforts made to implement the cultural activities, noting that the event was of great significance as 2023 marks 50 years of diplomatic ties and 10 years of strategic partnership between Vietnam and France.

Taste of Hanoi: A Festival Celebrating the City’s Culinary Delights

The Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival of 2024, themed “Hanoi Noshes,” kicked off on the evening of August 23 in the pedestrian zone along Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District. This festival commemorates the 70th anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – 2024) and is part of the 2024 National Tourism Year – Dien Bien celebrations. Vietnam looking for talented foreign coach for men’s football team following Park’s departure

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) officially announced on Monday that it will end the contract with Park on January 31, 2023, closing his fruitful five-year journey with Vietnamese football that had started in late 2017. The decision means that the 2022 AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup, set to take place between December and January, will be Park’s last tournament as the head coach of the men’s national football team.
