The Herbalife Nutrition Countdown Party will begin with a spectacular three-part show of a great number of singers and performers with vibrant lights and music.

According to director Trinh Ba Linh, the key act of the third part will be a 100-drone light show performed by illuminated, synchronised, and choreographed groups of drones that arrange themselves into various aerial formations.

The drone light show will be implemented for the first time in Vietnam.

Following the amazing music and performance party, the Vietnam International Half Marathon (VIHM) will be held at 5am on January 1, 2023.

The first sporting tournament of the year is expected to lure the participation of 5,000 Vietnamese and international athletes, in both elite and amateur categories.

Organisers have sent invitations to different countries which are famous for marathons such as Japan, the Republic of Korea and China. Regional athletes from Thailand and Singapore will also join the race.

Vietnam looking for talented foreign coach for men’s football team following Park’s departure

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) officially announced on Monday that it will end the contract with Park on January 31, 2023, closing his fruitful five-year journey with Vietnamese football that had started in late 2017. The decision means that the 2022 AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup, set to take place between December and January, will be Park’s last tournament as the head coach of the men’s national football team. The VFF affirmed that the farewell to the South Korean coach, who brought significant success to Vietnamese football during his tenure, came from a mutual understanding and the desire for a prosperous future for both parties. Following the announcement, a VFF member told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that the federation’s standing committee is in talks with potential candidates to find a replacement. “The new coach will be foreign, with good qualifications and a monumental résumé like our current head coach of the men’s national futsal team,” the VFF member said, re...

Over the years, the Olympics have gained a reputation for monumental waste, with entire stadiums left to decay once the two-week sporting event concludes. However, Paris 2024 took a different approach, focusing on sustainability and reducing waste. Paris aimed to do things differently by utilizing temporary venues to minimize construction and encouraging suppliers to consider the “second life” of their equipment. This innovative mindset extended to even the most minor details, such as tennis balls and sand for beach volleyball. Georgina Grenon, the Paris 2024 sustainability director, shared their unique strategy in an interview with AFP. She explained that before ordering anything, they contemplated the post-Games purpose of each item. This approach is a first for a major global sports event, and even consultants hired by the team couldn’t find a similar precedent. The Paris Olympics involved 32 sports and approximately 10 million spectators. Grenon’s team created an inventory of ev...
