HCM City int’l music, hot air balloon festivals to take place in December

Speaking at a press conference to announce the information on November 11, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy affirmed that these will be the biggest cultural events in the southern hub to further speed up the development of cultural industry and stimulate local tourism.

These events are expected to attract nearly 500,000 on-site and 10 million online visitors. 

Various activities will be organised at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, Thu Thiem 2 Tunnel Park in District 1 and “HOZO Metaverse” virtual platform.

Director of the city centre for tourism promotion Nguyen Cam Tu said the festivals will be an important highlight to attract holiday-makers to the city, thus contributing to promoting recovery and sustainable tourism development.

Taste of Hanoi: A Festival Celebrating the City’s Culinary Delights

The Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival of 2024, themed “Hanoi Noshes,” kicked off on the evening of August 23 in the pedestrian zone along Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District. This festival commemorates the 70th anniversary of Hanoi Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – 2024) and is part of the 2024 National Tourism Year – Dien Bien celebrations. At the opening ceremony, Tran Trung Hieu, Vice Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, delivered a speech emphasizing the festival’s role in promoting Hanoi as a ‘Safe – Friendly – High-Quality – Attractive’ tourist destination. He highlighted the unique gifts, delicious local specialties, and cultural heritage preservation efforts showcased by the event. Vietnam looking for talented foreign coach for men’s football team following Park’s departure

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) officially announced on Monday that it will end the contract with Park on January 31, 2023, closing his fruitful five-year journey with Vietnamese football that had started in late 2017.
