The space has attracted plenty of local students who are currently studying a Vietnamese-French bilingual programme. Indeed, French is taught at 22 out of 276 primary, secondary, and high schools in Can Tho.

Since becoming an OIF member in 1979, Vietnam has consistently strengthened its partnership with the Francophone community and has been an active member of the organisation in the Asia-Pacific region.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife arrived in Hanoi on January 23 for a two-day state visit at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong and his wife. During their visit, foreign guests had the opportunity to explore Vietnamese culture through a visit to the historic Temple of Literature, a site that showcases Vietnam’s traditional fondness for learning. The high-ranking German delegation received a briefing on the history of the Temple of Literature. This is Steinmeier’s second visit to Vietnam, following his first visit in October 2016 when he served as the Foreign Minister of Germany.
